Scandinavia has many advantages making the region excellent for conduct of clinical research. Above all, the region has a high number of professional people working with clinical trials. Therefore, Scandinavia is ideal for a well controlled clinical trial project especially when involving a limited number of patients where the professional demands are high. Local knowledge and hands-on experience are factors imperative for having full control of the clinical documentation. In addition we notice the importance of a well established Regulatory Affairs department, and an experienced QA department. Another field that is becoming increasingly important is “Health economics”. Our department of health economics has experienced increased interest from the industry. The cost-benefit ratio of the drug needs to be documented, e.g. to facilitate reimbursement.
