Promise for new fluorescence agent for the diagnosis of neoplastic lesions in the colon is seen in a phase II dose-finding study. Hexaminolevulinate-induced fluorescence colonoscopy resulted in finding detecting 97.8% (91/93) of all histologically confirmed lesions found compared to the 59.1% (55/93) of all lesions seen using white light diagnosis. Dr. Mayinger and her co-authors present this and other findings in their recently published article in Endoscopy.
